Affordable Care Act assistance available

posted Oct 3, 2013, 7:37 AM by Josie Maroney
Free information and signup for help for the Affordable Care Act is available at the Van Etten Library the first Saturday of every month beginning on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. No appointment is necessary. Licensed health navigator Adrienne Minichello will help individuals and small business owners enrolling in Affordable Health Insurance through the New York State Marketplace. The Marketplace will help people to check their eligibility for health care programs like Medicaid and other qualified health care plans and sign up for these programs if they are eligible.

The Marketplace will also be able to tell what type of financial assistance is available to applicants to help them afford health insurance purchased through the Marketplace. Insurance coverage can be purchased through New York State of Health beginning Oct. 1, 2013 and will be effective starting Jan. 1, 2014.
